Argentine workers mobilize against growing family indebtedness

Workers' and workers' sectors mobilized this Thursday, August 20, to the headquarters of the Argentine Ministry of Economy to express their rejection of the severe indebtedness affecting the country. The day of protest sought to make visible the precarious situation of nearly six million people surrounded by financial commitments.

As reported by Telesur, the mobilization was directed directly against the direction and economic measures of the Government led by the neoliberal president Javier Milei. Trade unions and social organizations reported that official policies have forced thousands of families to use credit to cover their basic needs.

During the day, political scientist Pablo Macía analyzed the magnitude and scope of this crisis affecting the working sector. The specialist addressed the social implications of the phenomenon and the impact that the deterioration of purchasing power generates on the quality of life of households.
