This Tuesday, the seventh flight from Barbados landed in Venezuela, with the supplies required to set up a field hospital in Guarenas, Miranda state.

The Deputy Minister for Latin America of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Mauricio Rodríguez; the ambassador of Barbados accredited to Venezuela, Aquinas J. Clarke, and representatives of the Office of Integration and International Affairs of the Ministry of People's Power for Health received the shipment.

“On behalf of our president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez; Foreign Minister Yván Gil and the entire team, we thank Barbados for this important effort; the ever present brotherhood,” said Deputy Minister Rodríguez.

The ambassador of Barbados explained that the sanitary facility will operate at the “Rubén González” Industrial Technical School, in the aforementioned city of Mirandina, a space where 90 health professionals from the Caribbean nation will provide their services. “We are here to support everything in Guarenas,” said the Barbadian diplomat.

Miranda was one of the seven entities affected by the pair of earthquakes, with a magnitude of 7.2 and 7.5, that occurred in Venezuela.

Because of the earthquake phenomenon, the national Government immediately activated rescue agencies and officials from different forces in order to serve the people, in addition to the mechanisms of international solidarity in the face of the magnitude of the catastrophe.
