Brazilian youth protest against Flávio Bolsonaro over alleged corruption scheme

Members of the social movement Levante Popular da Juventude led a protest in front of the former headquarters of the Master Bank, located on Faria Lima Avenue in São Paulo, to denounce the alleged corruption links between Senator Flávio Bolsonaro and former banker Daniel Vorcaro, Telesur said.

During the demonstration, activists unfurled banners with the slogan “Flávio is Vorcaro” to make visible a plot of irregular financing involving the clan of the former Brazilian president and the former financier, punctuated by one of the biggest bank frauds in the recent history of the South American country. The mobilization occurred after the leak of audio recordings allegedly demanding the payment of financial fees.

Currently, the legislator is being investigated by the Federal Police and the Supreme Federal Court (STF) for the alleged commission of crimes of corruption, money laundering and tax evasion. The investigations revolve around the alleged request of more than 24 million dollars from the former banker in order to finance the production of a feature film about Jair Bolsonaro.
