The BRICS+ block is moving towards the consolidation of a new framework of economic cooperation based on the digital economy, the adoption of cross-border payment platforms and the acceleration of technological exchange. This comprehensive strategy seeks to optimize the efficiency of business operations between member nations and deepen integration between emerging economies.
According to the information platform Telesur, in collaboration with the partner channel TV BRICS and the ANI agency, the president of the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry made a direct call to accelerate technology transfer and adopt “one-stop shop” mechanisms.
The initiative contemplates the simplification of customs and institutional procedures to streamline import and export flows within the transcontinental space.
Among the central axes of this proposal, the need to implement independent digital payment systems that lower operating costs and reduce barriers to multilateral transactions stands out. The articulation of advanced technological tools is emerging as a key pillar for modernizing commercial infrastructure and encouraging the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the countries of the block.
On this process, several international analysts have agreed on the strategic role of the alliance. Muhammad Reza Syariffudin Zaki, doctor of law and academic at BINUS University, stressed that digital cooperation within the BRICS constitutes a fundamental platform for “expanding access to markets, encouraging investment, boosting technology transfer and generating new employment opportunities”.
With this technical and financial integration scheme, the BRICS+ mechanism reinforces its position within the global economic scenario, promoting technological sovereignty and sustainable growth in the Global South through equitable and innovative exchange models.
