Carabobo consolidates alliance to treat dentistry for neurodivergent children and young people

An alliance between the Comprehensive Care Center for Children with Disabilities (CAI) Carabobo and the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Service of the “Dr. Enrique Tejera” Hospital City (CHET) will strengthen specialized dental care for children and adolescents with neurodivergence.
According to information from Venezolana de Televisión, the agreement contemplates the care of patients who, due to their health conditions, require dental procedures in a hospital environment and cannot be treated conventionally in an office.
The president of CAI Carabobo, Victoria Castañeda, stressed that the initiative will benefit patients with complex systemic commitments, such as cardiovascular conditions, diabetes mellitus, COPD, Sjögren's syndrome and lupus.
In addition, the head of the Dental Service of the CAI, María Lourdes Agüera, highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary work to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
The alliance is being developed by the Government of Carabobo, in compliance with the guidelines of the President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, and Governor Rafael Lacava.
