Chilean documentary filmmaker Patricio Guzmán died in Paris at the age of 85

Renowned Chilean documentary filmmaker Patricio Guzmán died this Tuesday at 85 years of age in a hospital in Paris, France, due to cardiorespiratory arrest resulting from health complications that he had been suffering in recent years.

According to local media reports, the filmmaker's artistic career was strongly linked to the historical memory of his country, finding in the figure of former president Salvador Allende and the social transformations of his Government the main source of inspiration for his most important film productions.
