The Coordinating Assembly of Secondary Students (ACES) of Chile called on high school and university students to a protest for this Thursday, September 3, starting at 10:30 in the morning, at the Baquedano Metro station, in rejection of the policies of President José Antonio Kast.
The mobilization targets the tax reform approved in Congress, which reduces first-rate taxes from 27% to 23% and favors large companies and higher revenues, as well as against the Protected Schools Act and the proposal to create a new state of public security emergency without parliamentary approval. They also reject the 3% cut applied to the ministries' budget, Telesur reported.
“We students will not be spectators of a government that has only done during these five months is to promote projects for big businessmen,” ACES said in a statement released on its social networks. The student organization denounced that the conditions of educational communities are still postponed and called for defending the future of Chile.
