China highlights impact of the SCO 2026 Summit in Bishkek for regional development and multipolar order

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) 2026 Summit, held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, injected a new dynamic into regional development and the consolidation of global governance, as reported by the senior authorities of the Government of the People's Republic of China after the conclusion of the multilateral meeting.

During the working sessions, Chinese President Xi Jinping reaffirmed the importance of the so-called "Shanghai Spirit" based on mutual trust, shared benefit, equality, consultation and common development as the fundamental pillar of the organization.

The president also formulated a four-point proposal focused on promoting inclusive development, common security, an approach focused on the needs of the people and the establishment of more equitable international governance.

For his part, the foreign minister of the Asian nation, Wang Yi, highlighted the achievements of the meeting of heads of state and government, pointing out that the event generated decisive synergies for the current geopolitical balance. “The SCO Summit in Bishkek provided impetus to global governance and strengthened the collective commitment to global multipolarity,” said the diplomat.

In this context, the delegations confirmed that the strategic plan derived from the Tianjin Summit is progressing at a rapid pace, allowing for the deepening of economic, energy and connectivity cooperation between member States.

With the consensus reached in the Kyrgyz capital, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization strengthens its strategic role in the international architecture, promoting multilateral coordination schemes aimed at regional stability and shared progress.
