On Thursday, the Ministry of National Defense of the People's Republic of China reaffirmed its commitment to intensify response capacities to the separatist aspirations in Taiwan. The announcement comes in a context of increasing military activity and modernization of the country's naval fleet.

During a meeting with the media, the portfolio's spokesperson, Jiang Bin, highlighted the operational advances of the new guided missile destroyers, Dongguan and Anqing.

Both units recently successfully completed their first training maneuvers and live fire exercises, consolidating their integration into the Navy.

Jiang stressed that “complete reunification” represents a strategic priority and a popular mandate. In a strong tone, the spokesman warned that the armed forces will continue to raise their level of combat readiness.

“Those who advocate 'Taiwan independence' and opt for armed resistance will find themselves at a dead end,” he said.
