Chinese Embassy confirms Red Cross contribution to support response efforts in Venezuela

The Chinese Red Cross announced that it will transfer 300,000 dollars to the Venezuelan Red Cross, in coordination with national authorities, in order to support operations aimed at dealing with the consequences of the double earthquake that occurred on June 24 in the north of the country.

The agency indicated that the resources will be used to sustain emergency actions and advance reconstruction work, according to information released by China News.

Venezuelan authorities are continuing their deployment in the affected areas, while they continue to search for and remove debris from collapsed structures, with a preliminary balance of more than 1,700 deaths and more than 5,000 people treated.
