Christ the Redeemer of Brazil wears a Creole tricolor in solidarity with victims of the earthquake double

The Catholic Church, together with the Caritas network of the Federative Republic of Brazil, as part of the solidarity campaign with Venezuela, are moving to the monument of Christ the Redeemer, located on the top of the Corcovado Hill, inside the Tijuca National Park, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, where they show messages of support for Venezuela.

“The Christ the Redeemer of Brazil was illuminated with the colors of the Venezuelan flag — yellow, blue and red — and projected messages such as “SOS Venezuela” and “Solidarity Without Borders. Donate now,” in a powerful gesture of support after the earthquakes of June 24,” the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry said.

The campaign seeks to collect donations for more than 5,000 affected people, including food, medicine, clothing and financial contributions . According to the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil, the funds will also go to reconstruction programs.
