Colombia counts 294 deaths and 320 missing due to an earthquake

At least 294 people died, 3,935 were injured and 320 missing is the balance presented this Saturday by the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD) after the earthquake of last August 10 in Colombia.

The news portal Sputnik details in a note that 115,461 people are affected in 448 municipalities in 15 departments.

In its balance sheet, the UNGRD counts 54,008 families and 115,461 people affected by the earthquake in 448 municipalities in 15 departments of the country.

The damage to homes continues to be of great magnitude, with 81,506 houses damaged and 14,493 destroyed, in addition to 66 collapsed buildings.

In terms of health and educational infrastructure, the report records damage to 241 health centers and 2,612 educational centers, while 3,621 community centers are affected.

The balance sheet also includes 298 roads, 59 aqueducts, 44 vehicle bridges and five affected pedestrian bridges, as well as five airports with damage related to the emergency.

The UNGRD also reported 578 animals affected by the earthquake, of which 188 were rescued.
