The Colombian Civil Aeronautics suspended operations at the airports of Pereira, Manizales, Quibdó, Armenia, Cartago and Buenaventura, following the 7.4 magnitude earthquake recorded this Monday in the northwest of the country, a measure applied while the infrastructure of each terminal is being reviewed.
Technical teams carry out inspections to determine damage and define the reactivation of flights, so authorities asked users to follow official information channels, Aeronautics said on social networks.
The earthquake had its epicenter in San José del Palmar and was perceived in several regions, affecting buildings and activating emergency protocols, according to reports from the Colombian Geological Survey, which confirmed the final magnitude of the event.
