On October 4, 2012, Commander Hugo Chávez Frías led the massive campaign closure on Bolivar Avenue in Caracas, where he highlighted the historical roots and the ancient struggle of the Venezuelan people in the defense of national sovereignty and independence.
During his address to the crowd gathered in the capital, Chávez emphasized the historic character of the revolutionary movement: “This battle of ours is long, this battle of ours is more than 500 years old on this Earth. Here are the children of Guaicaipura. That's where we come from, from aboriginal resistance, from Indian resistance, from black resistance, from the exploited, from the always dominated. The battle has been long, we are the sons of Simon Bolivar! The daughters of Simon Bolivar!”
“It was very difficult for us to get here in 500 years of battle, from 1492 to 1992, 500 years of struggle and when the 20th century ended we came out of a kind of collective death despite so many struggles. At the end of the 20th century, Venezuela rose up like Lazarus and here we are in 2012, Venezuela today is alive and walking and running,” said the Bolivarian leader.
“Thanks to God and thanks to the heroic people of Bolívar, Venezuela rose from the dead and today lives the Homeland, the young Homeland, girls, the young Fatherland, boy , and for nothing in the world we are going to allow them to liquidate Venezuela again ”, concluded Commander Chávez during the historic day.
