CORPOELEC and IMPSA sign addendum to a contract to strengthen the National Electric System

The National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC) and the company IMPSA signed an addendum to the contract this Wednesday to complete the Tocoma Hydroelectric Power Plant and advance work on the National Electric System (SEN).

In this regard, the People's Power Minister for Electric Energy, Rolando Alcalá, explained that work will restart in Tocoma and Macagua, which “represent more reliability for the Bajo Caroní system, more megawatts that will strengthen industrial development in the Guiana region and stability in the entire reservoir system of this large complex.”

He stressed that this is a major work. “We are going to work with the highest quality standards, teamwork,” he said.

Meanwhile, the president of IMPSA stated that the Tocoma project “is one of the most important hydroelectric projects to be implemented in the history of Latin America.”

“For us it is a very important vote of confidence that they are giving us and we are going to execute this project with the highest efficiency, with the highest quality and above all with the highest standards of generation and technology that can exist in the hydroelectric area,” he stressed.
