A violent incident took place this Sunday, June 14, in the morning when two helicopters crossed paths, collided with each other and crashed into a popular avenue in Rio de Janeiro.

International media report that as a result of the heavy impact, all the passengers on board died: five in one of the aircraft and the pilot who was alone in the other.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Rua Beth Lago and Rua Rivadávia Campos, when firefighters were alerted by the fall of the two helicopters.

The impact occurred against a parking lot that caused a large fire in the place. The flames and the huge column of smoke could be seen from several meters, as shown by the videos uploaded by users to social networks.

The Brazilian media outlet O Globo, specified that local residents reported the sound of several explosions after the crash.
