This Tuesday, July 14, Cuba registered a new total disconnection of its National Electroenergy System (SEN), a generalized failure that represents the third massive drop in service throughout the territory in the last month, according to information highlighted by Telesur.
Faced with this emergency situation, the Cuban Electric Union reported that its technical teams immediately began the relevant recovery maneuvers with the firm intention of restoring energy generation and achieving the progressive synchronization of the different plants that make up the national distribution network.
The specialists and operators of the state company work under a scenario of high technical complexity, which is strongly marked by recurring breakdowns in the country's main thermoelectric power plants, as well as by acute logistical difficulties to guarantee the supply of fuel required for the operation of generation engines.
The Cuban electricity system, which has been operating regularly under severe capacity limitations in the face of population demand, currently faces a scenario of extreme vulnerability, so local authorities estimate that the reconnection and stabilization of the service will be carried out gradually in the coming hours.
