Delcy Rodríguez activates Civil Protection System in greater Caracas due to the impact of Tropical Wave No. 40

The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, ordered the immediate activation of the Civil Protection System to deal with emergencies and damages generated by the intense rains resulting from the passage of tropical wave number 40, which generated significant incidents in various areas of Greater Caracas, such as: El Valle, Coche, Altamira, Antímano, La Vega and San Antonio.

The President in Charge reported that the measure is being implemented directly in conjunction with the Sectorial Vice President of Policy, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, and the head of Civil Protection, Admiral Oti.

Rodríguez affirmed that this rainfall is part of the global effects of climate change and confirmed that State institutions are alert, deployed and prepared to protect the population.

“We are now ready and prepared to deal with climate events,” he said.
