Department of Chocó recorded injuries and damage to infrastructure after the 7.4 earthquake

“There are injuries and serious damage to buildings,” said the governor of Chocó, Nubia Carolina Córdoba, after the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that occurred on August 10 with an epicenter in San José del Palmar.

The governor specified that in Quibdó the structures suffered severe breakdowns, while emergency teams are making progress in the evaluation to consolidate the first official report, reported the newspaper El Tiempo.

In the municipalities of Alto and Bajo Baudó, the damage was described as critical and social networks disseminate images of residential collapses without yet specifying the number of fatalities or injuries, which is estimated at dozens.
