Earthquake of magnitude 6.7 shook the department of Chocó in Colombia

An earthquake of magnitude 6.7 was recorded at 7:34 a.m. this Monday, August 10, with an epicenter in San José del Palmar, Chocó, in Colombia, the Colombian Geological Survey (SGC) reported.
The earthquake had a depth of 82 kilometers, international media reported.
The event was perceived in multiple departments due to its intensity. Emergency agencies verify possible material damage, damage to infrastructure or injured people.
The SGC asked citizens to report the perception of the earthquake through their official channels, in order to establish the effects in the different regions. The information remains under development and could be adjusted after the technical review, as has happened in previous bulletins with changes in magnitude, depth or location.
