The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, Badr Abdelat ty, reaffirmed this Thursday his country's full solidarity with Lebanon to face the complex security challenges currently facing the nation. During an official communication with the Lebanese Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, the head of Egyptian diplomacy analyzed the critical political situation and the state of national stability, confirming Cairo's commitment to supporting the Lebanese people.
In the framework of this dialogue, Egypt reiterated its demand for an immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces from all Lebanese territory. This position is based on strict respect for international law and compliance with UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which seeks to restore the sovereignty of the Lebanese State over its borders and guarantee the definitive cessation of hostilities.
Abdelatty also highlighted the strategic importance of strengthening Lebanon's military institutions and security agencies. According to the Egyptian vision, the consolidation of these institutions is the only viable way to guarantee national stability and ensure that the State has the necessary capacity to preserve peace and territorial integrity in the face of external pressures.
These statements come in a regional context marked by the recent signing of a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, aimed at ending military operations.
Despite diplomatic efforts to achieve a cessation of hostilities, tensions persist on the Lebanese front, where the international community is actively monitoring the evolution of the conflict and compliance with the agreements reached.
