Journalist Ernesto Villegas Poljak presented the credentials that accredit him as permanent ambassador-delegate of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), based in Paris, France.
On behalf of the president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, and of the Venezuelan people, Villegas transmitted to the director general of UNESCO, Khaled El-Enany, his gratitude for the solidarity expressed by the multilateral organization towards the South American nation after the national emergency due to the earthquakes recorded last June 24.
For his part, El-Enany, who has been in office since November 2025, welcomed the new ambassador, reiterated his solidarity in the face of the tragedy and highlighted the role played by Venezuela within the organization.
Villegas was accompanied by the regional director of UNESCO, Anne Lemaistre, the Venezuelan chargé d'affaires in France, Martha Bolívar, and other diplomatic authorities on behalf of the Bolivarian delegation to the organization.
