Last Friday, the film Ali Primera won the Roque Dalton Prize awarded by Radio Habana Cuba as part of the 45th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana, in which the film participated as part of its route of international festivals.

According to information from the Ministry of Culture, the judging jury noted that the film by the production company Humana Cine managed to “masterfully capture the man who became the voice of a people, the human being who throbs in the memory of our continent, just as his music vibrates in the archives of our radio station”.

He also highlighted that the film “exploring the immense imprint of Ali Primera with excellent photography and successful direction of actors is a great challenge because human beings like him remain in popular memory with an unstoppable force”.

The Roque Dalton Award is a recognition given by Radio Habana Cuba for 30 years in homage and memory of this Salvadoran poet, who worked there as a journalist in the sixties of the 20th century.
