The Bolivarian Government and the multinational company Shell Venezuela S.A set up a high-level technical panel for the implementation of the Dragon Field Gas Project.

During the meeting, according to a press release from the Foreign Ministry, it was confirmed that the proposed road map to achieve the exploitation of this important deposit, projects that by December of this year there will be a formal restart of operations in the field.

In this regard, the multinational company Shell Venezuela S.A. presented, during the meeting, the technical update of the project for the exploitation of this important gas field that makes Venezuela a world power in this area.

One of the key points presented by Shell was the engineering concept for transporting the molecule from the Dragon Field to the Hibiscus platform in waters off Trinidad and Tobago, through a pipeline that will cross the maritime border between the two nations. Given the complexity of this binational infrastructure, the national authorities agreed to structure inter-institutional and international working groups to protect regulatory aspects in the areas of security, customs, maritime operations and border security.

For his part, MG Gerardo Izquierdo Torres, director of the Border Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized the urgency of applying efficient mechanisms that guarantee at all times the full exercise of the sovereignty and inspection of the Venezuelan State.
