French seismic engineering specialists arrive in Venezuela for post-earthquake research

Specialists from the French Association of Earthquake Engineering arrived in Venezuela in order to deepen post-seismic investigations and evaluations following the earthquakes of last June 24.

The president of the Presidential Commission for the Evaluation of Infrastructure Habitability, Francisco Garcés, held a working meeting with international experts and addressed issues of interest that will strengthen national capacities in structural evaluation and the design of resilient solutions.

The French delegation so far has a history of 50 missions around the world and has almost 500 active members.

Consequently, it will be responsible for studying the effects of the earthquake in Venezuela from a technical, scientific and academic point of view, in order to cooperate in the research and contributions necessary for the reconstruction of the country.

With these actions, the national government designs solutions aimed at guaranteeing safe structures for the Venezuelan people.
