The re-elected governor
of Monagas state, Ernesto Luna, was proclaimed this Tuesday by the
National Electoral Council (CNE), after being victorious in the regional
elections last Sunday, May 25.
“Today we are here
as part of the act of the National Electoral Council's schedule in our
act of proclamation, of the deputies to the National Assembly,
regional deputies and of the responsibilities that the people of Monagua have once again assigned and
granted us on May 25 to continue to lead the
governor's office,” said Luna.
He stressed that this
re-election represents a “greater commitment, responsibility, dedication and sacrifice
to continue to summon all sectors of the democratic path of the Monagas state,
to continue to summon all sectors of the political life of the state to
build the Monagas of the future (...) street by street, palm by palm, in each
of the sectors, in each of the communities”.
In this regard, he stressed
that on election day the people “came out with joy, enthusiasm and
desire to participate. As we have said, we will gladly continue to
give ourselves to the sublime interests of our people in
Monagua, to continue to look to the future, to continue building the
powerful, productive, prosperous, beautiful and hopeful Monagas for boys and girls and for the future”.
