After the resignation of his candidate for deputy, José Luis Espert, due to a scandal linked to drug trafficking and who is the main candidate for Buenos Aires by the party of Argentine President Javier Milei, it became clear that while they accused the Venezuelan Government without evidence, the Southern Head of State did receive money from drug trafficking for his campaign.

Espert tried to deny it, saying that it was a defamation campaign, but his name appeared in the accounts of Fred Machado (businessman accused by the United States of being a drug trafficker).
