Head of State meets with Chilean President José Antonio Kast

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, held a meeting with the President of Chile, José Antonio Kast, regarding his agenda at the 81st General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) held in New York.

The meeting was also attended by the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Félix Plasencia, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Venezuela, Oliver Blanco, and the Sectorial Vice President of Economy, Calixto Ortega, among others.

Last August, Venezuela announced the start of a road map for the progressive normalization of its bilateral relations with the Republic of Chile.

In a first phase, both countries agreed to reactivate consular relations, as an initial step towards the full resumption of bilateral ties, with the objective of ensuring consular protection and services for compatriots.

During her work schedule in New York, President Delcy Rodríguez has held several strategic meetings, including the meeting with the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Kamla Persad-Bissessar, and the President of the United States. UU. Donald Trump, as well as representatives of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), in order to strengthen strategic cooperation for the benefit of the Venezuelan people.
