The Assembly of States Parties to the International Criminal Court (ICC) suspended prosecutor Karim Khan after the legal process progressed for alleged sexual harassment.
The decision adopted on June 8, 2026 by a qualified majority and formalized in a statement that stated: “The Bureau decided to suspend the Prosecutor from service with immediate effect.”
According to what was published by the Sputnik agency, the agency indicated that the measure does not close the procedure and announced an extraordinary meeting to evaluate the case.
Khan had been on administrative leave since May 2025 while allegations of harassment were being investigated, expanded in August of that year with a second accusation released by British media.
