In a ceremony held at the National Theater, in Caracas, Jorge Otaiza was revealed to be a swimmer and the canoeist Yocelin Canache, who will be the athletes who will carry the national pavilion XX Bolivarian Sports Games Ayacucho - Lima 2025, to be held between November 22 and December 7.

Otaiza, Pan-American champion and national record in butterfly-style events, highlighted his pride in being one of the carriers of the Tricolor. “Carrying the flag carries a great responsibility, and as athletes we are committed to taking it to the highest level in the world and not only in America. This is the beginning of a new Olympic cycle and it will mark the beginning of some successful and joyful years for Venezuela,” he said.

For her part, Canache stressed that her choice as a flag bearer will help promote the practice of canoeing, while at the same time helping the region to learn about the talent that this sport has been developing in recent years thanks to the policy of overcrowding led by the Ministry of Popular Power of Sport together with the Venezuelan Olympic Committee.

The event also paid tribute to those who represented the country in the Junior Parapan American Games in Santiago de Chile and the Central American and Caribbean School Games in Córdoba.

Venezuela will participate in the Bolivarians in 50 sports disciplines and 39 sports with nearly 529 athletes. The member countries of the Bolivarian Sports Organization will participate in the competition: Colombia, Chile, Bolivia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru and Panama; plus the invited nations of El Salvador, Guatemala, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Costa Rica and Uruguay.
