Kremlin evaluates Putin's face-to-face participation in the BRICS Summit

The diplomacy of the Russian Federation is evaluating the physical presence of President Vladimir Putin at the meeting of heads of state of the BRICS group, scheduled for September 12 and 13 in the city of New Delhi. From the Kremlin, spokesman Dmitri Peskov confirmed that the official visit is part of the work agenda and that logistical details are being coordinated with the Indian authorities.

The analysis of this displacement comes after the recent high-level meetings held in Moscow between the Russian head of state and the Indian foreign minister, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. During the deliberations, both parties reviewed the bilateral cooperation scheme and agreed on the need to strengthen the financial and political structures of the block of emerging countries.

Prior to the event in the Indian capital, delegations plan to hold a bilateral meeting between Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bishkek, during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit. This approach seeks to strengthen existing agreements in key sectors such as technology, defense, space exploration and the development of nuclear energy for civil use.

Along with the diplomatic exchange, Moscow and New Delhi maintain the goal of raising bilateral trade to 100 billion dollars by the year 2030. With this commercial projection, the possible attendance of the Russian delegation at the September meeting aims to consolidate the group's geopolitical weight and promote the integration of the economies of the Global South.
