From Plaza Bolívar and in the company of the People, Carmen Meléndez was sworn in for a second term as mayor of Caracas for the period 2025-2029. This triumph belongs to the people and I have sworn in with it,” he said.

“I swear to the glorious people of Caracas. I swear to the God of my parents and to our eternal Commander Chávez and I swear to our president Nicolás Maduro, the helmsman of Venezuela (...) I swear that I will not rest and I will be throughout our city of Caracas complying with the plan of the 7T and I will not rest until I fulfill my last commitment,” she swore when she was invested with the position for a new term.

In her words, Mayor Carmen Meléndez stated that “we are moving towards great transformations (...) This is a special day to thank everyone and everyone. We are moving towards new transformations following that guideline of our president Nicolás Maduro, to change everything that needs to be changed,” he explained.

In that regard, he added that “we have transformed different spaces for well-being (...) I ask all the people of Caracas to continue together, without you we are nothing. Working together, we will continue to transform our city, but on the scale of government, the most important right now are the communal self-government rooms, they will be our small mayors in each territory, a total of 299 in Caracas.”

He added that “we are going to continue working and strengthen what we already have”.

Addressing the opposition, he indicated that “to those who are very brave from the outside who use and buy the weakest people to set explosives (that the consequences would have been disastrous for our city), we tell them that we want peace. We are not going to accept it, we are a country of peace! and we are co-responsible for the defense of our Homeland and our capital”.

He added that “I have always said that God is Chavista, he is with us, he accompanies us and he has saved us”.

He added that “we raise our voice against fascist interference that seeks to put a price on the dignity of a people and of our president Nicolás Maduro. We will continue to defend him with loyalty and here we will be united to defend him. He's on the street with the town, in case you want to look for him. Let the courageous from outside know that Venezuela respects itself, its people and its president.”

He stressed that it will serve everyone without discrimination. “We will continue working for everyone and with this new method of governance with the empowered People we will see the results in a short time.”
