Minister González López: Military High Command supports energy agreement between Venezuela and the United States

At the conclusion of a meeting led by the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, at the Miraflores Palace with the Military High Command, the military institution expressed its support for the historic agreement between Venezuela and the United States.

In this regard, the Minister of Popular Power for Defense, G/J Gustavo González López, assured that “we accompany, approve and agree on all the terms of the recent strategic agreement that the country has had with the United States regarding energy development in oil fields.”

He also indicated that this agreement will generate international investment income that will result in “greater employment, greater production and all the chain that will bring more employment.”

González López said that “this agreement is prosperity and well-being for the country. It's just a decision to go to peace, it's not a subordination; we completely agree, we support all the actions that our Commander in Chief has taken.”

He also said that during the meeting with the head of state, an assessment was made, specifically of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), the operational level, the size of the units, welfare and, in turn, issues of interest such as energy savings in the country and the meteorological issue due to the rains recorded in the various states.
