The Minister for Ecosocialism, Nelson Rodríguez, highlighted the importance of the agreements signed between Venezuela and India through the Greens Center to modernize and rehabilitate all public zoos, create wildlife conservation centers and aquariums in the country.
“After an extensive work schedule, it has been possible to sign an agreement to strengthen wildlife, zoos and transform them into conservation centers,” said the minister from the state of Miranda, where he accompanied President Delcy Rodríguez, and signed for the republic the agreement with P.K. Ashok Babu, ambassador of India to Venezuela.
He asserted that the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism will guarantee institutional activities and will have Venezuelan technical personnel for the reception, protection and exclusive operation of these centers.
The initiative includes exchange programs aimed at veterinary doctors, biologists and other professionals related to the management and conservation of wildlife, who will be able to strengthen their capacities based on the experience developed in India. It is expected to last approximately five years.
