Minister of Transport reported that the recent earthquakes in the state of Zulia caused damage

The Minister of Popular Power for Transportation, Ramón Celestino Velásquez Araguayán, reported that the recent earthquakes recorded in the state of Zulia affected the slab of the San Pedro Bridge, at the entrance to Mene Grande, Baralt municipality.

Velásquez Araguayán, explained that specialized technical teams inspected the entity's main road arteries and that, in coordination with local authorities, immediate actions were taken to address the structure.

For his part, the governor of Zulia, Luis Caldera, accompanied by civil, firefighters and military authorities, indicated that in addition to the damage to the slab of the San Pedro Bridge, there is the infrastructure of the Luis Razetti Hospital in Pueblo Nuevo; the Hospital de Santa Bárbara, in the municipality of Colón; in addition to the General Hospital of the South and the Santa Bárbara church, in Maracaibo.

The regional president added that teams of engineers carry out evaluations in these buildings, including the Santa Bárbara church, which had damage to its tower.
