The Arturo Michelena International Airport in Valencia was the gateway for a new group of Mexican rescuers who are joining the rescue, search and rescue efforts in the country in order to locate Venezuelans who are under the rubble after the earthquake last Wednesday.
The representative of the rescue group, Alejandro Méndez, assured that along with the staff, there will also be penetration equipment, technical cameras, drones, pneumatic equipment, cutting equipment, breakers and other tools totaling half a ton of equipment.
“We come just to look for people alive, we are going to work all day if necessary and take advantage of all the equipment we have here,” said Méndez, who together with his group of rescuers will be transferred to the state of La Guaira to begin their work.
Finally, the rescuer's message to the Venezuelan people was a call to resist. “Resist, this is a time of great uncertainty and a lot of sadness but we are with you,” he said.
