Representatives of the eight member countries of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (OTCA) are participating in the Regional Workshop of the Group of Focal Points for South-South Cooperation (CSS), which takes place in Brasilia from August 24 to 27.
The technical-strategic meeting is aimed at consolidating consensus on the new Guide to South-South and Triangular Cooperation in the Amazon and its operating regulations, in addition to promoting horizontality, good practices and co-responsibility in the management of financial resources for the development and mutual benefit of the region.
In this context, delegations define methodologies and technical guidelines for planning the VI Summit of Heads of State and the execution of future agreements focused on the preservation of the Amazon biome.
Venezuela, as a member of the OTCA, reaffirmed its commitment to regional integration through the Ministry of People's Power for Science and Technology, making its technical and scientific capacities available to strengthen shared governance and the comprehensive protection of the Amazon.
