Portugal is operating in four active fires in the north of the country while brigades and air vehicles are working to contain sources that are advancing over rural areas, in addition to facing a sustained increase in temperatures that increased the risk of spread in dozens of municipalities.

The Torre de Moncorvo fire mobilizes more than 360 personnel, 112 vehicles and eight aircraft, in addition to spreading to Carrazeda de Ansiães after starting on Saturday and forcing a reinforcement of the response in areas that are difficult to access, Telesur reported.

Emergency teams are working in Ponte de Lima and Marco de Canaveses, in addition to keeping the Boticas fire, near the border with Galicia, in the resolution phase, where more than 250 firefighters are continuing control tasks to prevent outbreaks.

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere declared an orange alert in nine districts in the north due to forecasts that will reach 40 degrees, in addition to raising the risk of fire to a maximum level in many municipalities that remain under reinforced surveillance.
