The President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, recognized the efforts made by the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, during his visit to the United Kingdom, aimed at advancing the resumption of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
“I thank Dr. Jorge Rodríguez, president of the National Assembly, for joining efforts and efforts in favor of the resumption of diplomatic relations between Venezuela and the United Kingdom, during his recent visit to that country,” he said, from Telegram.
The Head of State released a video in which the President of the Parliament explains the points discussed in London and the clarifications about Venezuela's position in the talks held with British authorities.
In the audiovisual material, Jorge Rodríguez explained that he held a meeting with the director for the Americas of the Foreign Office of the United Kingdom, in which he presented Venezuela's position on political and social dialogues.
“We just had an important meeting with Harriet Thompson , director for the Americas of the Foreign Office of the United Kingdom, regarding political and social dialogues, the issues of the advances that have been made in recent days in terms of oil investment, reciprocal investment and how these can result in significant economic growth in Venezuela very quickly, but of course, complying with the processes that are being carried out,” he said.
He indicated that during the meeting, the different dialogue tables currently taking place in the country were reviewed. “We talked about the different dialogue tables that are taking place right now in Venezuela and we must say, first of all, we are grateful for the reception we have had and we also want to tell Venezuela that there has been good news for our country and for our people,” he said.
