The president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, ratified this Tuesday her solidarity with the People and Government of Colombia after the magnitude 7.4 earthquake recorded on August 10.
“I want once again to express Venezuela's solidarity with the people of Colombia, who you know suffered an earthquake yesterday and has been very widespread in different areas of the west and the center of the country. Yesterday our foreign minister (Félix) Plasencia spoke to his Colombian counterpart,” he said.
During the delivery of rehabilitated housing in Caracas by the Venezuela Renace Plan, the president in charge stressed that “our Simón Bolívar Humanitarian Task Force is ready to go to the rescue of our Colombian and Colombian brothers once authorized by the Colombian government and to provide all the support that is required.”
He recalled that Venezuela received the support of many countries in the world, including Colombia, in the face of the tragedy caused by the double earthquake of last June 24.
“We know what it's like to go through such a situation, because on June 24, Venezuela was the victim of a double earthquake like it has never been seen (...) and the world is studying for the unprecedented situation, two earthquakes followed by just seconds and with an intensity and a superficiality that you know caused serious damage in the state of La Guaira,” he said.
