During the 204th anniversary of the Battle of Carabobo, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reaffirmed the independence character of this historic feat and its validity in the defense of national sovereignty.

Carabobo is the point of no return in our tireless history, it is the moment when we stopped being a colony overwhelmed by a foreign empire and dared to be a Republic,” said the president, highlighting the historical value of the battle as a symbol of unity and resistance.

In his speech, the Head of State denounced the new forms of domination facing the country, such as sanctions, blockades and hybrid wars, and called on young people to star in “the new Carabobo” based on organization, conscience and commitment to the country.

It reaffirmed the country's commitment to peace and the self-determination of peoples. “Let no one make a mistake about Venezuela! We are the same as yesterday, we are living Carabobo, we are Bolivar, we are the First Black, but with two centuries of experience. Wiser. More united. Freer. More ours.”
