President of Senegal condemns violation of international law and demands an end to the massacre in Palestine

During his speech at the 81st session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), the President of the Republic of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, described the systematic violation of global legal norms as intolerable and called for an immediate end to aggressions against the Palestinian people.

The Senegalese president warned the multilateral plenary that “the systematic violation of international law is intolerable” and emphasized the urgency of “determining with this massacre and this destruction” to restore stability to the region.

In this regard, Faye emphasized that global peace and stability are unfeasible under scenarios of permanent conflict. On this aspect, the head of state affirmed that “no peace, no security will be viable or sustainable without the two-State solution”, reiterating the need to guarantee secure and internationally recognized borders.

The president called on the international community to assume collective responsibility in the face of global crises, the climate emergency and the fight against terrorism, urging them to consolidate joint work for the security and development of peoples.
