The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez Gómez, attended the vicinity of the Petare police headquarters, where he met with relatives of citizens detained in that compound to announce that between Tuesday, February 10 and Friday, 15, those who can take advantage of the Amnesty Law being discussed by the national parliament will be released.
“I want to tell you what we are doing, we already approved the Amnesty Law in the first discussion of the National Assembly, then on Tuesday, we will approve it definitively and since this law is approved, that same day they all come out,” said the parliamentarian accompanied by Jorge Arreaza, president of the commission that drafted the legal instrument.
Also, during the meeting outside the Detainee Control and Protection Center, located in Zone 7 of Boleíta, Caracas, he asked to make a preliminary list of cases that require emergency care in the health area to coordinate their transfer to a medical center.
Through his Telegram channel, he reflected on the importance of this step. “Forgiveness does not generate any kind of reservation. In these complex times that we live in, we must be fair, ask for forgiveness and forgive too,” he said of the work agenda promoted by the Parliament for the Amnesty for Democratic Coexistence bill.
