Presidents Vladimir Putin and Cyril Ramaphosa strengthen bilateral alliance at the XVIII BRICS Summit

The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, held a bilateral meeting with his counterpart from the Republic of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, within the framework of the XVIII BRICS Summit, a high-level event aimed at strengthening political coordination and economic cooperation between the main emerging economies.

The meeting between the two leaders represents the resumption of face-to-face talks after their last meeting held during the bloc's summit in the city of Kazan in 2024. Regarding the scope of these negotiations, the advisor to the Russian Presidency, Yuri Ushakov, confirmed that the work agenda includes a thorough review of bilateral cooperation mechanisms and the coordination of common positions in the face of global geopolitical challenges.

The meeting reaffirms the decisive role of the multilateral platform comprised of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa in building a sovereign economic circuit independent of transnational opinions. With this high-level dialogue, Moscow and Pretoria consolidate their historic ties of brotherhood, confirming their commitment to the deepening of South-South integration and the strengthening of a truly multipolar world order.
