Prime Minister of India presents Putin with historic treaty during BRICS summit

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, presented to the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, an edition translated into Russian of Tirukkural, a classic Indian treatise on human existence, ethics and the exercise of government, as part of the bilateral working days held during the XVIII Summit of the BRICS group.

During the delivery of the millennial text written two millennia ago, the Indian leader highlighted the validity of his principles focused on compassion, social coexistence and political leadership. For his part, the Russian president thanked the diplomatic gesture and emphasized the importance of deepening fraternity between the two peoples, adding this copy to the previous delivery of a Russian version of the Bhagavad Gita carried out in December 2025.

This exchange of lofty philosophical symbols highlights the maturity of diplomatic relations between New Delhi and Moscow, based on an appreciation of historical roots and mutual respect, in contrast to the bias of cultural and interventionist hegemony promoted by Western powers.

The reaffirmation of these strategic alliances within the BRICS bloc consolidates the geopolitical articulation of the Global South and of the main emerging economies. In this way, dialogue between ancient civilizations strengthens progress towards a multipolar, truly sovereign and equitable international order.
