Road Culture Plan promotes awareness and education in Ocumare de la Costa in Aragua

With the purpose of promoting responsible mobility and encouraging road care, Plaza Bolívar in the Town of Ocumare on the Gold Coast was the scene of the deployment of the Road Culture Plan in Aragua.

The activity, reported in a press release by the Mayor's Office of Ocumare de la Costa de Oro, aimed at pedestrians and drivers who travel through the coastal town, was focused on planting respect for traffic regulations based on participation and prevention.

This initiative was jointly organized by the governor of the entity, Joana Sánchez, Mayor Wilmer Leal and the State Secretariat of Culture, headed by Nicolás González.

“Thanks to this strategic alliance, the municipality is joining forces to provide residents with clear tools on their duties and rights in terms of traffic, strengthening the collective well-being of the jurisdiction,” said Luis Lovera, director of municipal culture.

He added that the Road Culture Program stands out for its pedagogical, original and fun approach, through which road safety content is offered in an educational way.

He noted that the plan was born from the state's Ministry of Culture as a way to raise awareness among all drivers who travel through the territory.

She also pointed out that as a central part of the day, a group of girls together with representatives of local dances led a training session in the streets, in addition, informational flyers were given to passers-by and closely encouraging prudence at the wheel and the proper use of pedestrian crossings.

“Through the 'Road Culture' Plan, we are transforming street education into a participatory and formative experience for our families. Carrying this message through teaching methodologies allows us to build a true culture of respect on the Ocumare roads of the Gold Coast,” added Lovera.
