The Russian Federation and Ukraine finalized a new exchange of prisoners of war this Friday, in which each side recovered 185 soldiers. The operation, which involves a total of 370 people released, was carried out with the humanitarian mediation of the United Arab Emirates, a country that has facilitated similar agreements in the past.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that soldiers returned from Kiev-controlled territory were initially transferred to Belarus. In that country, former prisoners received medical care, psychological support and specialized assistance before completing their repatriation to Russia, where they will be referred to rehabilitation centers.

This exchange represents a continuation of humanitarian efforts between Moscow and Kiev despite the persistence of hostilities. The operation follows the previous exchange carried out on May 15, in which both parties released 205 troops each.

The event takes place in a context of diplomatic and military tension, coinciding with reports of new attacks on the ground and the recent proposal of the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, to establish a direct meeting with the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, to seek a solution to the conflict.
