Russia calls the US proposal on energy truce a good initiative

The government of the Russian Federation positively assessed the proposal made by the United States (USA) to establish a cessation of attacks against energy infrastructure in the context of the conflict with Ukraine, as reported on Tuesday by the presidential spokesman, Dmitri Peskov.

Peskov confirmed that there are active contacts between Moscow and the US administration led by Donald Trump, while confirming Russia's position in favor of moving towards negotiated solutions that contribute to stability in the region.

The statements of the Russian representation come after the White House pointed out the existence of preliminary understandings aimed at safeguarding energy sector facilities and containing the rise in the international price of diesel.

If this measure is implemented, both nations seek to reduce tensions in the hydrocarbon markets, making it possible to stabilize the global supply of fuels affected by the development of hostilities.
