This Wednesday, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin said that his country is part of the select group of four countries around the world capable of developing and manufacturing aviation engines completely independently. The president stressed that the State dominates the entire technological cycle required for these highly complex components.
During a meeting on aviation development at the M.M. Gromov Flight Research Institute, Putin noted that this advance shields the nation's strategic capabilities. In his view, sovereignty in air engineering, both civil and military, represents an infallible indicator of the scientific and technical power of a power.
Prior to his intervention, the head of state inspected the new models of state-of-the-art aircraft at the scientific center. The institute's authorities confirmed that the design and assembly of these units is carried out using exclusively domestically manufactured components and systems.
This autonomy in the supply chain responds to Moscow's accelerated import substitution policy. The strategic plan seeks to neutralize the effects of international trade blockades and permanently eliminate dependence on foreign suppliers in high-tech sectors.
