Russia makes fun of Ukraine's children's series ban

The spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, ironically criticized the recent sanctions imposed by the Ukrainian Government against the creators of the popular animated series Masha and the Bear.

As reported by Russia Today (RT), the measure responds to Vladimir Zelensky's decision to ban the children's program by classifying it as an alleged threat to national security. Faced with this, the Russian official questioned whether in Kiev they really believe that vetoing content for children will change the dynamics on the front lines.

This production has established itself internationally as one of the animated series with the greatest global reach. Its plot, based on a traditional Russian folklore story, narrates the experiences and adventures of a little girl with her companion bear.

From Moscow, they frame this restriction as part of a campaign of censorship and anti-Russian hysteria that extends political tensions to children's entertainment, dismissing the security arguments presented by the authorities in Kiev.
